Getting properly fueled before running is as important as eating three meals daily. Any running requires a lot of energy, so you must eat up properly to ensure your body won’t tire out while you hit the pavement. Fruits

Fruits don’t have a lot of carbohydrates and fat content, so they’re the perfect choice for snacks before running. You can eat an apple or banana or dares to give yourself a boost before running. Another thing is that fruits don’t make your stomach feel heavy and give you nausea, so you can snack on them even during a marathon to replenish your energy.

Energy Bars

Energy bars are a great snack option before running. Additionally, taking a few energy bars with you is also a good option if you’re doing marathons. Your stored glycogen will deplete after a few hours. Snacking on energy bars during the marathon will keep you fueled enough to continue the run. Moreover, energy bars are rich in sugars, protein, and fast-acting carbohydrates. These are special carbohydrates that digest easily, so you won’t have to worry about putting on weight.

Toast And Other Sandwiches

A lightweight meal before running is sure to keep you full without making you feel nauseous. Light toast with bread or a regular jam and honey sandwich is the perfect option. If you’re conscious about the calories, brown bread is a good alternative to regular bread. If you have a lot of time before running, say 2 to 3 hours, you can go for a full meal with eggs and bacon along with your toast.

Freshly squeezed juices are a great way to hydrate the body while providing rich nutrients. You can go for the typical fruit juices or opt for green juices that include green and leafy vegetables. However, don’t go for packed juices. These have a high percentage of sugars, artificial flavors, and preservatives that decrease their nutritional value. If you must, you should opt for cold-pressed or high-pressure processed juices that don’t have many additives.
