There are no crowded start lines, no cut-off times and no pressure to be the fastest.

Simply run, walk or jog 5 kilometres, celebrate reaching your finish line and earn an incredible spring-themed finisher’s medal.

Whether you’re starting your running journey, returning after a winter break, working towards your first 5K or simply looking for another reason to lace up your trainers, this is a spring challenge for everyone.

WHAT’S INVOLVED?

Taking part couldn’t be easier.

The Spring into Running 5K Virtual Race is a flexible challenge that allows you to complete your 5K wherever and however suits you.

Choose your route, lace up your trainers and cover 5 kilometres by running, jogging, walking or using a combination of all three.

Your Spring into Running 5K could take place:

  • 🌷 Through a park filled with spring flowers
  • 🌳 Along your favourite woodland or countryside trail
  • 🌼 Around your local streets
  • 🏞️ Beside a river, canal or reservoir
  • 🌅 During a bright spring morning or evening
  • 🏃 On a treadmill
  • 👟 At your local parkrun
  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 With friends or family
  • 🐕 With your four-legged running companion
  • 🎧 Completely solo with your favourite running playlist

Unlike a traditional race, you’re in control.

There is no fixed start line, no intimidating race environment and no pressure over your finishing time.

Walk it.

Jog it.

Run it.

Use a run/walk strategy.

Try for a new 5K personal best.

However you decide to complete the distance, your 5K counts.

WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE

Complete your challenge and celebrate your achievement with your very own Spring into Running 5K finisher’s medal.

Your medal isn’t just something to add to your collection.

It’s a reminder of the goal you set, the 5 kilometres you completed and the decision you made to get moving this spring.

The highlight of the challenge has to be the spectacular Spring into Running 5K medal.

Created specifically to celebrate the colour, energy and fresh beginnings associated with spring, this eye-catching medal has been designed to stand out proudly in any runner’s medal collection.

The design brings together everything we love about the season — bright colours, spring flowers, nature and the feeling of starting something new.

Expect a colourful, detailed design packed with spring-inspired elements that immediately capture the feeling of leaving winter behind and heading outdoors again.

The bold SPRING INTO RUNNING 5K wording sits proudly within the design, ensuring there is no mistaking the challenge you’ve completed.

Detailed raised elements give the medal additional depth, while the colourful finish creates a vibrant premium appearance.

It’s a medal designed to make you smile when it arrives and one you’ll want to display long after your 5K is finished.

And because no great medal is complete without the finishing touches, your medal is accompanied by a matching Spring into Running themed ribbon, creating a complete spring-inspired race keepsake.

WHY JOIN THE SPRING INTO RUNNING 5K?

Spring is all about fresh starts.

After the darker mornings, colder evenings and unpredictable weather of winter, spring can be the perfect opportunity to reset your goals and rediscover your motivation.

The Spring into Running 5K gives you a fun, achievable target to work towards while celebrating one of the best times of year to get outdoors.

🌱 Give Your Running a Fresh Start

Spring often feels like the beginning of something new.

Maybe you want to start running for the first time.

Perhaps you’ve taken some time away from running during winter.

You might already run regularly but need a new challenge to keep things interesting.

Whatever your starting point, having a specific 5K running goal gives you something positive to work towards.

Sometimes all it takes is one challenge to get the momentum going again.

🌷 Enjoy Running in Spring

Spring can be a fantastic time to run.

The days are becoming longer, temperatures are starting to rise and parks, trails and countryside routes begin bursting back into colour.

Instead of staring at the same four walls, lace up your trainers and experience the changing season.

Look out for:

🌼 Spring flowers appearing along your route
🌳 Trees returning to life
🐦 Birds and wildlife becoming more active
🌅 Lighter mornings and evenings
☀️ The occasional appearance of that mysterious thing called British sunshine!

Your 5K doesn’t need to be about speed.

Sometimes slowing down and simply enjoying your surroundings can make the challenge even more memorable.
