International Women's Day Run
International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on 8th March. It originated back in 1975 to celebrate women’s achievements and to support the Women’s Rights Movement, raising issues such as gender equality and reproductive rights.
We are delighted to be able to donate 10% of all entry fees to Womankind Worldwide. This is an amazing charity which has been empowering women for over 30 years.
WHAT'S INVOLVED?
Run, walk or jog any distance, anywhere in the world to on 8th March 2024 to support International Women’s Day.
Distances accepted: 5k, 10k, 10 miles, half marathon, full marathon, ultra. We also accept treadmill activities.
WHAT'S INCLUDED?
- Receive a beautiful white aluminium finishers medal with a plain coloured ribbon.

THE BENEFITS OF ADULTS STAYING ACTIVE
As we get older, our bodies change. Our metabolism slows down as we age which leads to weight gain, fatigue or lack of energy, physical stiffness and general weakness. Bones lose density and can result in diagnosis of osteoporosis. The good news is we have a way to combat and slow down this from happening.
An active life is vital to stay fit and healthy. Vigorous activities, like running not only helps people with changing your mood and helps with mental health issues, but it can also improve body strength and balance. Running can also prevent or delay diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, or osteoporosis. There is also research to support running may improve cognitive function (how the way the brain works).
