THE RUNNING BUG

Running is enjoyed by over 7 million people in the UK alone. But it takes time and dedication. Done wrongly can result in injury, but done correctly, will help promote a healthy lifestyle. The Running Bug can help with the support of our running community.

WHY TAKE PART IN A VIRTUAL CHALLENGE WITH THE RUNNING BUG?

Our virtual races are a perfect way for beginners or seasoned runners alike. The benefits of running with The Running Bug is that you don’t need to spend money signing up for a race, then getting to the venue which costs additional money on petrol or other transport costs. With our virtual races, you can complete them anywhere; in your local park, around your neighbourhood, even in your back garden. You could also run our virtual challenges when you run a live racing event, so you’d get 2 medals for running once!

Discover our fantastic range of themed virtual races. We have a wide selection of challenges to cater everybody’s fitness and running levels from short 5k walks to marathons.

Our challenges are split into 5k and 10k races, half and full marathons or any distance challenges. With these types of races, we let you decide how far you want to go. At The Running Bug will know that everybody has their own pace and are at their own stage so we try to accommodate everybody and make it as easy as possible.

RACES FOR THE YOUNGER ONES

We know how important it is for children to be active but interested at the same time. This is why we have a selection of challenges just for children.

STEP CHALLENGES

If you don’t have the time to run or walk, then why not give our step challenges a try? Our step challenges have a bit of a twist as you can dictate the type of challenge and the duration of the challenge so you’re not committed to do a challenge you can’t complete.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I SIGN UP FOR A CHALLENGE?

Once you have signed up and paid for a challenge, you will receive an email confirmation of your entry. Before the challenge begins, you will receive another email reminding you the challenge will start and instructions on what to do once you have completed your challenge.

After the challenge has finished, another email will be sent out to congratulate you on your achievement and provide details of when your medal will be posted to you. Shortly after which you should receive your medal in the post.

SENDING YOUR EVIDENCE

We try to make sending your evidence as easy as possible. Please go to our Submit Your Evidence page to send your challenge result or for more information.
